Make Healthy Living A Way of Life!

Below are some basic information to  keep in mind as you start your weight loss journey for better, healthier life! Throughout your journey, be mindful of your caloric consumption and activity level since these will greatly impact your weight loss program.


1.BE REALISTIC: For healthy weight loss, you will need to set realistic goals that is easy to attain. Depending on your current weight, you can set a weight loss of 1-2lbs per week but can be more depending on your efforts.


2. BE AWARE OF YOUR CALORIC INTAKE: Counting calories might sound like a difficult task but it is important that you are aware of how much food you are consuming to be able to achieve your weight loss goal. 


3. AVOID JUNK FOODS: Junk foods are high in bad fats, salt, empty calories that can lead to other health problems.


4. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER: Water can help remove toxins from your body,  help you stay hydrated as you burn calories and helps you fell full. Daily recommendation is drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day.


5. CONSUME MORE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES: Fruits and vegetables are great source of fiber. Eat more vegetables!


6. EAT HEALTHY FOODS: Consume foods low in fats, high in fiber, low in calories, high in protein, whole grains, wild caught fish,skinless chicken and grass fed meat.


7. AVOID STRESS: Surround yourself with positive people that are supportive of your goal. Avoid negative people that bring stress to your life!


8. TAKE YOUR TIME WHEN EATING: Taking your time during meals to enjoy the meal, will provide time for your body to digest the food so you can better determine how full you are before going for the second plate. 


9. PRACTICE BETTER SLEEP HABITS: Practicing good sleep hygiene is very important for your body to reset. Sleeping at least 7-9 hours per night is ideal because inadequate amount of sleep hinders your metabolism leading to weight gain. 


10. ENJOY THE PROCESS: Don't look at it as a diet but instead a way of life to make life more enjoyable. Think about the reason why now is the time for you to lose weight, is it for health, vacation, family or simply to fit into your clothes? Whatever the reason is, take a deep breathe, stick to your routine, take it one day at a time and simply Enjoy the journey to better, health!
